Deadline for Proposals
The closing date for the next round of Project Development Funding will be Thursday 21st October 2010.
Eligibility
Currently only established UK based programme makers may apply. Individual producers are not excluded from applying to the Fund, but are encouraged to approach established production companies to umbrella their projects. Preference will be given to projects promoting better understanding of the developing world highlighting the challenges and importance for both developed and developing countries of reducing poverty.
Selection criteria
Applications will be assessed on the basis of the following selection criteria:
- Suitability of subject matter in improving understanding of developing countries (as demonstrated by the treatment submitted as part of the application process).
- Broadcast potential (as demonstrated by a letter of interest from a UK mainstream broadcaster/ commissioner)
- Originality and innovation in approaching the subject matter
- Track record of the applicant company/producer
- A production company/producer is eligible only if it/he/she has produced a project for UK broadcast within a period of 18 months (as demonstrated by accompanying detailed programme history)
- Track record of the producer / director (as demonstrated by a CV)
