CBA 2008 General Conference
CBA Bahamas Conference 23-26 January 2008
"Empowering the People" – this is the theme of the CBA General Conference in Nassau, the Bahamas, 23-26 January 2008. Time will be devoted to the new technologies as well as to ways of making them work on behalf of the people.
Speeches
On the 23rd January there will be some workshops:
- 0900-1600 Workshop for Regulators, in partnership with the International Institute for Communications. Abaco Island Room. Regulating for the Digital Age Programme
- 0830-1600 Workshop on Enhancing Your Management Skills in partnership with the CBC. Trainers: Ian Alexander, Independent Consultant, and Marion Salmon, CBC. Wedgewood Room.
- 0900-1600 Workshop on the Effects of Climate Change, with special focus on the Caribbean. Sponsor: DFID Barbados. Facilitator: Asher Minns, Communication Manager, Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research. Rum Cay Room.
- 1000-1100 Evaluating Health Programming, in partnership with the Population Media Centre. Victoria Room.
- 1130-1530 HIV/AIDS and the Media, in partnership with the Global Media AIDS Initiative. Victoria Room.
The Opening Ceremony will be on the evening of the 23rd January at the Wyndham Hotel with the Royal Bahamas Police Band and the National Youth Choir. Speech by the Right Honourable Hubert Alexander Ingraham, Prime Minister of the Bahamas.
The main conference will run from 24-26 January, with departure on the 27th.
