4. Regulatory Workshop

This is for Broadcasting Regulators and for those closely concerned with regulator issues, and is supported by UNESCO, Southern Africa. It covers Regulating for Quality Content, Preparing for the transition to Digital and Effective Enforcement. Facilitators are Tim Suter, MD Perspective Associates and ex-OFCOM and Robert Nkuna of ICASA.

6. The Media and Social Justice – what role for the Commonwealth?

This is run in cooperation with the Commonwealth Foundation and looks at the role of the Commonwealth. It covers the role of the media in Democracy and Governance, in Economic Development, and in Conflict, as well as in Gender Issues. It is led by the Director of the Commonwealth Foundation, Mark Collins.

7. Management and Financial Control Workshop

This is aimed at providing a practical approach to management. It covers control through corporate governance, delegation, standard setting, performance measurement, capital projects & business plans. The afternoon will be devoted to case studies. The speakers will be Mervyn Warner, CBA Finance Consultant and Neil Dormand, CBA Technology Consultant.
