Zambia launches second state television channel
Zambia's Vice-President George Kunda Friday launched the country's second public television channel on 15 January. The channel will be called TV2. It has been on test transmission since August last year and is the only station to be televised 24 hours.
Since independence ZNBC has been running one television channel and in 1991, the government liberalized the airwaves and saw two private television stations set up in the capital. The new television channel will at first only reach Lusaka before being extended to other parts of the country.
