Important note: Commonwealth Broadcasting Association membership is not open to individuals, only to organisations.
What does the CBA do for its Full Members?
- Offers global networking opportunities for broadcasting executives.
- Supports the PSB output of members by lobbying and representing their interests to parliamentarians and governments.
- Holds pan-Commonwealth broadcasting conferences every two years.
- Holds regional broadcasting conferences or workshops every two years.
- Promotes partnerships and co-operation between member broadcasters.
- Organises regular training courses and consultancies, either free or subsidised for members.
- Awards annual study, travel and attachment bursaries, available only to members.
- Publishes a quarterly magazine, Commonwealth Broadcaster, free for members.
- Publishes an annual directory of broadcasters in the Commonwealth, free for members.
- Produces a monthly radio programme about the Commonwealth, free for members to re-broadcast.
- Records winning entries of the Commonwealth Short Story Competition, free for members to re-broadcast.
- Runs the CBA International Programme Bank, allowing members to have access to right-free quality TV programming.
- Administers the CBA Awards, for which members receive discounted entry fees
- Maintains a website and distributes a monthly electronic newsletter, Update.
- Offers a discounted rate for exhibition stands at all CBA conferences.
- Offers a 10% discount off the cost of advertising in CBA publications.
What does it cost to be a CBA Full Member?
The fee for a national broadcasting organisation is based on the Commonwealth formula which is based on their country's GDP. The minimum annual subscription for 2010 is £1607. The fee for a commercial company takes into account the size and income of the organisation.What does the CBA offer Affiliate Members?

The subscription fee for 2010 is £2006 per year.
